BEAUTYBAY COLOUR THEORY PALETTES REVIEW & SWATCHES

beauty bay identity palette review

The beauty site we all know and love, (and I have watched grow into a huge company over the years,) gave us all what we wanted. Three amazing, affordable eyeshadow palettes that include everything the beauty world wanted. Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll probably be pretty familiar with this magical trio - say hello to OriginIdentity and Evolve. Three palettes, containing a very generous 42 shades, (wow...) at an even more generous price point of £25.00. Not only that, but these babes also contain a huge mirror large enough to complete your full face of make up in. This is the Colour Theory family.

Despite the price point, and considering these are Beauty Bay's first own brand releases, these palettes don't feel or look too cheap. I love that they went the extra mile of embossing the signature
'B' logo into every pan, something you only find in higher end palettes. On the exterior, we have almost a mirrored/holographic 3D textured print of the name, surrounded by matte black extremely thick sturdy cardboard. (Kinda reminds me a lot of NARS.) The palettes are delivered in a box matching the exterior, but also in the most adorable and quirky popper bag decorated with holographic drawings. (I even got stickers with mine, so cute.)

As you can see from my swatches, the pigmentation is really there in both the mattes and shimmers, (you get an amazing mixture of both in every palette.)  I've actually been using a lot of the 'pop' row of shades as a highlighter! And honestly, there's so many cool/warm browns that I've even managed to contour with it. We love a versatile queen, so much bang for your buck. Not to mention the fact they have literally given a guide on the pans, labelling each row and column with steps and numbers so if you're a beginner, or just thrown by the amount of shades in there? Not a problem. These palettes work well for everyone(Check out this soft but glam cut crease I created using the Identity Palette.)

The formulae? Again, I truly have no complaints. There's pigment, pay off, blend-ability, staying power, very little to no fall out at all...what more can I say? The shadows are so easy to work with, the shimmers are soft and glide on a dream. The mattes aren't too dry or chalky.

I truly do not understand how Beauty Bay managed to produce such a high quality palette, with an enormous pan size and range of shades, with nice packaging, for this price point. It truly has blown my mind, and if this is a sign of what's to come from their own brand in the future, I'm so down and so excited. I cannot rrecommend these palettes to you enough, because I cannot pick out any faults. You definitely do not *need* all three, but it's nice to have the whole family sometimes. However, if you did buy all three, you'd probably have enough eyeshadow to literally be set for life and any look.
