GET INSTA READY FOR CHRISTMAS

ZARA BLACK STRAPPY POINTED TOE HEELS
As Christmas approaches the invites for meals out with work, friends and family come rolling in, and we all love to take a picture or two looking our best and having fun to commemorate the occasion. Winter is a great time to indulge in richer fabrics, deeper colours and sumptuous layers. Where at any other point of the year you might shy away from glitter and sequins, at Christmas time it’s not just accepted; it’s encouraged. So get those phones ready and party on.

COLOURS
Over Christmas richer colours like gold, forest green, Merlot and burgundy are seen in abundance. No one wants to look like a Christmas tree, but the holiday season allows you to wear those traditional colours proudly, and team them with gold and silver. Or perhaps you will go bold with a gold dress or a silver sequined top. If you love a black on black look, then add a pop of festivity with a silver heel or statement necklace.

FABRICS
With the temperature dropping, you’ll want to avoid the light and airy fabrics that you've spent all summer in. Use layered fabric combinations, velvets and knits which are just so perfect for the colder weather. Why not choose rough velvet for an illusion of depth and a different texture, or soft cashmere for a luxuriously smooth finish.

CLOTHES
The clothes you choose to wear will be determined a lot by the venue you are going to; whether it’s a black-tie event, casual dinner, clubbing or anything in between those three. But remember that you are going to be cold when moving between venues, so take a coat and just check it in when you reach the club or bar. Otherwise think about long sleeves, trousers over a skirt, or a bigger bag to fit your gloves in. Invest in lightweight, but warm scarves - cashmere always comes through for you here - and some discreetly thermal tights.

SHOES
Winter can present the annoying issue of ice which isn’t that compatible with stilettos, so you might have to consider switching to something else. (Personally, I'll risk it.) Block heels are more stable, and you can add some edge to your outfit with a chunky, tread on the sole. The great thing about winter is that it is perfectly acceptable to wear boots with every outfit - either ankle, knee length or thigh-high, they’re all on trend, and all look amazing.

MAKE UP
Vogue predicted the continuation of the red lip and bold brow for this season, and they were right, a deep, wine red is a perfect look combined with Natural Smiles. With the risk of snow and wind, you might not want to risk false eyelashes (or you might, like me,) but winged liner has got your back to accentuate your eyes.
