Zoella Jelly And Gelato Review and Haul Blogger
Shock horror - I'm a blogger that's never tried Zoella Beauty, until now. I'm sure you've all seen the new 'Jelly and Gelato' range, you can't really miss it, it's gorgeous. I promise I'm 20, not 12. This range promises to 'brighten, moisturise, smooth and tone.' Sounds good to me.

I've always liked the look of her products but for some reason I just always pick them up and put them down in fear that they're a huge gimmick. I think it's also the whole 'am I too old to be buying a Youtuber made product? They're targeted at teenage girls.' I've heard nothing but good things about all of her previous collections to be fair, and I did pick up a few bits from her Zoella Lifestyle range! There's something about the packaging of this collection that just really, really got me, I think it looks little more grown up and professional than her previous collections- and when I went onto Superdrug and saw them on 3 for 2? I bit the bullet.

I picked up four of the products: Shower Shake, Body Pudding, Bath Frosting and Shower Sauce. I've never tried any Zoella products before, so I had no idea what to expect. Upon opening the delivery box I was a tiny bit thrown by the size of the products- I just expected them to be a little bit bigger. But what really threw me off was the smell! It wasn't what I was expecting at all, I had to smell each product twice just to double check I was smelling right. If I went into Superdrug to buy these, and smelt them first- I wouldn't of bought them to be honest. The scent is very strong, and in my opinion it's also very mature and traditional. And by that I mean my grandma would adore this smell. Picture a middle class pensioner, who drinks red wine every night, lives in a posh cottage, and has a husband who plays golf. This is what they'd smell like. I don't hate it by any means, I just don't think it suits the branding or the packaging.

The first thing I tried was the Bath Frosting, which is described as a milky, moisturising powder. You get 4 sachets inside the tin, so 4 baths, and I think there was a pretty generous amount of powder inside the sachet. I ran the powder under hot running water and it created bubbles and turned my water white and milky looking. The scent was pretty strong, but it didn't irritate my skin. (Which was my biggest concern with Zoella products.) I have very dry skin on my body, so I probably could do with 2 sachets in my bath water. However, I did get out of the bath feeling a little less tight than usual, and didn't feel the need to slather on a moisturiser ASAP!

I then used the Shower Shake, described as a moisturising body wash. This body wash is a thick, creamy formula and 100% felt more moisturising than your typical shower gel. It doesn't foam up, but it leaves a layer of whipped goodness on your skin so I was able to shave my legs with it perfectly- it was just the right consistency. A little went a long way, and the scent was pretty strong with this one too.

I then moisturised my whole body using the Body Pudding, which is described as being 'lightly whipped,' body cream. I 100% agree, it's the lightest moisturiser I've used consistency wise, it's thin and soaks in extremely quickly. But despite it's light whip, it's of a medium moisture level I'd say. It moisturised me just enough, but I know in Winter this wouldn't be any use to me. The cream has tiny little pink balls in, which I first at thought would be a little exfoliating- but they just disappear into your skin. Again, a little went along way with this too and the scent is very strong. So strong that when I came out of the bathroom and into the living room, everyone was like 'WHAT is that smell?' I had a huge fear that this would irritate my sensitive skin, make me itchy or rashy- but so far, so good!

I haven't had a chance to use the Shower Sauce yet, but I do know that this is the product with the least strong smell. (Which I like.) I really hope it lathers up well and is good for shaving. It's certainly the best looking shower gel I've ever had.

After trying these, I would 100% be up for trying her other collections! Hopefully I like the other scents better than this one, because it really isn't my cup of tea- but I can look past it because of the performance and packaging.

  1. Can we just take a second to appreciate that picture!! I've never tried any of her products because I felt the same way about being too old, but the way you described the scent literally made me laugh out loud!

Thank you for taking the time to comment.
