HUDA BEAUTY SMOKEY OBSESSIONS PALETTE REVIEW + SWATCHES

HUDA BEAUTY SMOKY OBSESSIONS PALETTE REVIEW
You bet I was on the Cult Beauty website the minute the new Huda Beauty Obsessions Eye Palettes launched, so if you're looking for a multi toned eyeshadow palette that can literally create any type of look your heart desires - look no further.  We all know by now I love everything I've tried from Huda, and I religiously wear her false lashes on a daily basis (In the style Scarlett, here. Incase you ever wondered.) These new compact palettes come in four colour ways, such as vibrant brights, warms and mauves - you can check them all out hereI opted for the Smokey palette, (for now anyway.) I wear a dark smokey eye quite regularly, and it's certainly not something I save for special occasions or parties, this girl just likes full beat on the daily.

HUDA BEAUTY SMOKY OBSESSIONS PALETTE REVIEW
Each matte black palette houses 9 shades at 1.1g each, all in various finishes. In the Smokey palette we have: 1 ultra foil/glitter, 4 mattes, and 4 satin/shimmer shades. We have colours ranging from champagnes, to pure gold and an intense matte black. The palette its self is quite small, definitely the smallest palette I own - however it still includes a decent mirror and its extremely convenient for fitting in a make up bag or on the go.

The shimmer shades in this palette are ultra smooth and pigmented, they literally glide onto my lids and blend seamlessly. However, the foil/glitter is the stand out for me - in a cool toned silver this glitter packs onto the lid so intensely but easily. If you want one of those Instagram goals glitter cut creases but aren't great with loose glitter, this is your new bff. This foil silver gives an amazing 3D effect that looks like layers of loose glitter packed on and on. Last and probably least, the mattes are good but by no means the best mattes I've tried. (Tarte is my go to for the best mattes.) They do have good pigment and blend nicely but they didn't really impress me like the foil or shimmers. However, the matte black shade is a pure, proper black that most palettes don't get right.

HUDA BEAUTY SMOKEY OBSESSIONS SWATCHES
As you can see, every shade no matter the finish is ultra pigmented - and I expected no less from Huda. I absolutely love this palette and I've managed to use it to create more subtle looks, as well as super dramatic, glam glittery looks.

I'm for sure going to purchase the other colour ways of Obsessions, although they might be difficult to get a hold of because I know they're proving very popular and only available from two UK retailers. I'm so glad Huda Beauty released palettes that aren't huge like Desert Dusk - which certainly isn't travel or make up bag friendly, (or purse for that matter, at a whopping £56!) and of course your shades and tones are very restricted to pinks and purples in her signature Desert Dusk, (but I'm still lusting after it anyway...)
