URBAN DECAY - THE VELVETIZER

Urban Decay The Velvetizer Review
If you're a gal with combination/normal skin looking for a new finishing/setting powder, I've found your new best friend. Say Hola to this new release from Urban Decay, you probably haven't heard about it, or seen it, and I have no idea why. This is the ultimate dark horse of new releases, and I wouldn't of found it if I didn't check UD's new in page. Thank God for 3AM browsing. Urban Decay have been killing it recently with their prep and finishing products, they recently released their new primers and setting sprays- both of which I love by the way. I'm currently obsessed with their 'Self Adjusting' primer and Quick Fix spray.

The Velvetizer is no exception, and to be honest the name and the packaging is enough to lure you in without even knowing anything about it. The powder is housed in a glass pot, wrapped in a purple velvet embossed ribbon. Finished off with a metallic lid, engraved with the UD logo.
The Velvetizer powder is described as a 'translucent mix in medium,' and I can't speak for how it works when mixed with your foundation (which is it's intended purpose,) because I just don't have the time and effort in me to be sitting creating make up cocktails. I just use this as you would a normal loose powder, tip a sprinkling into the lid and smother it all over my face, adding a little extra to my oily areas.

The Velvetizer really lives up to it's name, it really did give me a soft focus velvet like finish on my skin. Not cakey, or dull, but just matte and a controlled radiance. The best part? It stayed like that all day, even through me sweating! My oily areas were kept totally under control, and my more dry/normal areas had no problem either, my face didn't feel tight or uncomfortable. The powder also does an amazing job of blurring your face, giving you that kind of airbrushed look.

I am beyond impressed with this product, it's easily the best powder I've ever used to set make up and control oil. I think it should be getting a lot more press.
