NUDE LIPS FOR PALE SKIN

Nude Lips For Pale Skin
I don't know about you, but I find that having fair skin can make finding 'nude,' lipsticks quite tricky, because you think it looks perfect online and then you try it on and it looks ten times darker and suddenly you look like you're coming down with a black death. I always find that warm/reddish toned nudes are the worst culprits personally. If you are deathly pale like me you'll so relate to the struggle, so here are the almost perfect ones I've found so far...

NARS VELVET LIP GLIDE - STRIPPED
I just published an entire post dedicated to this product so we don't need no explanation, you can read all about it here. (Sorry to your bank account in advance.) (Ps. it's perfect.)

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM- CARIO + ABU DHABI
I've got quite a collection of these, as does everyone and their mum by now I think. I've collected every shade of every type of nude from NYX, they can do no wrong with their lip products especially at the drugstore prices. The name says it all really, it's a super soft formula that I can best describe as 'cushiony' but they do dry down very matte and therefore last all day, even through food and drink. At first I was a bit like 'huh?' because the formula feels very thick and moussey when first applied, but once it settles and dries down it's as good as a matte lip gets. Yes, you do get dryness after a few hours, but that's just a given with any super matte lip product. Cario is an extremely light shade with a tiny hint of peach and pink but still remains neutral, where as Abu Dhabi is a cooler, darker nude but still works fab with fair skin.

MARC JACOBS LE MARC LIP CREME - FAWN OVER ME
This might just be my favourite liquid lipstick formula yet, this is a new release from Marc Jacobs and there's so many people raving about it already. It's very unique in texture but still has that perfect not too dry matte finish. The shade range isn't great (yet,) but Fawn Over Me is more on the peachy side than the neutral, I think it's very Spring appropriate. It's a very soft, creamy peachy nude and the formula is almost mousse like. (And that packaging though, major swoon.)

NARS VELVET MATTE LIP PENCIL - BETTINA
If you're someone that just doesn't love the feeling of make up being on, a Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is for you. It gives a gorgeous matte finish, not as matte as a liquid lipstick because after all, it is a pencil- but this formula feels extremely light and comfortable on the lips. Bettina is the typical 'your lips but better,' shade that you won't even remember you're wearing until you look in a mirror and see how flattering the shade is. I love to wear this if I've got really dramatic, dark eyes to balance things out a little but still have some colour to my pout. It's not 100% party proof, so if you're eating and drinking you'll need a top up!

MAC MATTES - VIVA GLAM II + MYTH
I know, I know, Myth is a love or hate one. It can look like a serious case of foundation lips but sometimes it can look gorgeous and really flattering. There's something about this that just makes everyone compliment me, I don't know if it's because I'm very pale with a neutral undertone or what, or maybe the way I do my make up, but when I wear this I'm always told how much it suits me! This shade is very very matte and your lips will probably need a scrubbing before application to avoid flakeyness.
Viva Glam II has been a staple in my make up routine for years, I've re-purchased this several times and I've even converted my grandma to this, she loves it! I really don't see enough people talking about this, I think it's the perfect nude and it's not 100% matte either so it's non-drying but extremely long wearing! It's that lipstick I pick up when I'm in a rush and don't have time to be picky and think about it, because this goes with everything and always looks great, it's totally foolproof.

COLOUR POP - MIDI
Shock horror, I've only ever tried two Colour Pop lip products. (I know, disgraceful right?) One shade 'Vice' I hated, literally the worst thing I've ever put on my lips. But, the second shade I tried 'Midi,' I instantly fell in love with. Midi is a browny, pinky nude that's not so dark but not so light, it's like a perfect middle and balances out the browny'ness and nude really well. Although, when the formula really dries down on your lips it will emphasise cracks and lines, which is why I'm hesitant to buy anymore.

NYX LIP LINGERIE - CORSET + BABYDOLL
The formula of these have thrown me, and I just don't really know how to describe it. It's sort of, the slight stickiness of a lip gloss combined with the slight dryness of a MAC matte lipstick, so, it's not really sticky or really drying, but there's elements of both. I don't hate it but I don't love it, I'm very much on the fence about the texture, it's unlike any lip product I've tried before. Baby doll is a sort of pinky taupe shade, the pinky'est shade in this entire edit actually, and Corset is more browny beige, but still light enough for pale skin, it's very cool toned.
